Cincinnati's favorite ice cream just crossed state lines.
Eater Chicago is covering our first Chicagoland scoop shop, and we couldn't be more ready for it. The Northbrook location is open, and for the first time, Chicagoans don't have to drive to Ohio or order online to get a proper scoop of Graeter's.
This is a big deal for us. We've been making ice cream the same way since 1870, two gallons at a time in a French Pot® freezer, and every pint that comes out of that process is thick, dense, and packed with hand-poured chocolate chips that freeze into chunks you won't find anywhere else. Bringing that to a new city isn't something we take lightly.
Chicago has an incredible food scene. Eater covers it better than just about anyone. So when they show up on opening day, we pay attention.
