The Chicago Tribune is asking the question everyone in the Chicago suburbs is asking right now: why Northbrook?
The answer is pretty simple. We wanted to be somewhere that felt right for Graeter's. A community that cares about quality, knows good food, and has the kind of customers who will drive a little out of their way for something worth driving for. Northbrook fit.
The Tribune story is out this week and does a solid job laying out what makes Graeter's different from the ice cream you find everywhere else. The French Pot® process. The family ownership. The fact that we're still making ice cream two gallons at a time, the same way we have since 1870, because that's what produces the thick, dense, loaded pints our customers keep coming back for.
Illinois is new territory for us. We've built a loyal following in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, and we're proud of every one of those customers. Now it's Chicago's turn.
