Inspired by the story of Elena Desserich, Graeter's formed a partnership with The Cure Starts Now®, the international charity originally founded in her honor, to help raise awareness and much needed funding for pediatric cancer research. Since teaming up in 2009, with the help of supporters like you, we've raised over $2.5 million dollars with the Cones for the Cure event, used directly to fund cancer research.

ElenaElena filled her six years with art, pink everything, and kindness for anyone who needed it. After her DIPG diagnosis, she hid love notes around the house for her family to find, comforts they still discover today. The blueberry pie flavor carries her name. David Jr.David was diagnosed with DIPG at six and passed at nine in 2021. He loved Power Rangers, Pokémon, and Lego, and lived by his own motto: make every day the best day ever. He became an advocate for kids facing cancer. A scoop of our Strawberry ice cream was his favorite flavor.
WilliamWilliam was full of joy and laughter, the kind of boy who brought light into every room. He battled a brain tumor with strength well beyond his eight years. He loved the Reds, building Legos, and Aang from Avatar, with his eyes always on the stars. A scoop of our Cherry Chip ice cream was his favorite flavor.
HarleighHarleigh was an affectionate nine-year-old who lit up at a Disney movie, a cheer routine, or a day in the pool. Purple was her color, swimming her happy place, and her loved ones her whole world. DIPG took her far too soon. A scoop of our Black Raspberry Chip ice cream was her favorite flavor.
LibbyLibby is a two-time medulloblastoma survivor and a fierce, hippo-loving girl who refuses to quit. She has beaten the odds with grit that humbles everyone around her. She loves art, swimming, and the Buckeyes. Her family won't stop until there's a cure. She loves our Peanut Butter Milkshakes.
GrahamGraham has a heart of gold and the soul of a warrior. He came through a 14 hour craniotomy and relearned how to walk and talk without one complaint. These days he is all Reds baseball, horseback riding, and Bluey. He is the strongest boy his family knows. He loves our Birthday Cake ice cream!
ClareClare takes on DIPG with brightness and courage than most of us could muster. The road isn't easy, but she meets each day wrapped in a swirl of love from those around her. She loves to draw, play basketball, and never loses her sense of humor. Our Cookie Dough Chip ice cream is her favorite!
JoeyJoey, only five when medulloblastoma entered his life, met months of rehab, radiation, and chemo with a happy-go-lucky attitude. Nothing has stopped him from being a kid. That means adaptive baseball, Beyblades, and Nerf battles with his brother TJ. Our Midnight Snack ice cream is one of his favorites.
