Family-Owned Ice Cream Company Introduces Five New Flavors to Suit Every Sweet Tooth

Beloved Graeter’s Ice Cream Expands Selection of Flavors to Provide An Even More Indulgent Dessert Experience

CINCINNATI, OH (February 27, 2015) - Graeter’s Ice Cream, a super premium craft ice cream brand, has announced the addition of five new flavors to their award winning line of products. Among the new flavors are Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Black Raspberry Gelato, Dark Chocolate Mint Crunch Gelato, Toasted Coconut Gelato, and Bananas Foster Gelato. All five flavors will be released in select grocery stores and will be available online beginning March 5, 2015. In expanding their product line, Graeter’s hopes to give consumers greater freedom when it comes to choosing their favorite flavor, no matter the occasion. These new flavors will please those looking for a nostalgic, yet unique dessert experience.

For many consumers, one dessert remains their favorite. Even among a world where sweet innovations are at the forefront of the food industry, ice cream continues to stand out. According to QSR Magazine, “Many people, particularly Millennials, are choosing artisan foods, from craft beer to better breads. High-quality, creative ice cream is no different.” Entrepreneurs like Graeter’s Ice Cream are increasingly coming up with unique flavors that remain true to the brand’s original mission. That is, creating the finest, creamiest, most deliciously indulgent ice cream in the world, 2 ½ gallons at a time.

The newest additions to the Graeter’s Ice Cream family are presented to loyal consumers everywhere with great enthusiasm. "We have a passion for making ice cream," shares Richard Graeter, fourth-generation owner of Graeter's Ice Cream. "We spend a great deal of time talking with our consumers, and understanding what they're looking for in a premium ice cream flavor. From our family to theirs, these new flavors are being introduced with a great deal of excitement and anticipation."

All five new Graeter’s Ice Cream and Gelato flavors will hit their respective store shelves in March 2015. Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, a creamy indulgence that incorporates the smooth taste of bourbon with Graeter’s Ice Cream’s signature chocolate chips and crunchy pecans, will be released wherever Graeter’s Ice Cream is currently sold. Each new Gelato flavor, including Black Raspberry, a tart creamy gelato dense with the finest black raspberry flavor, Dark Chocolate Mint Crunch, a rich gelato with bright mint notes, Toasted Coconut, a subtle gelato boasting a sweet coconut flavor, and Bananas Foster, a gelato mimicking the classic banana and rum-infused dessert, will be introduced to select grocery stores throughout the spring. Additionally, all flavors will be available online with an Online Buyer Promotion. This promotion will detail the release of one new flavor each day beginning with Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip and the others following between March 1-5.

Graeter’s Ice Cream was founded in 1870 after success was found selling their popular French Pot churned ice cream in Cincinnati’s street markets. Once sold in the deli section of a dozen Kroger stores in the 1980’s, Graeter’s Ice Cream is now in over 2,000 Kroger stores from coast to coast and remains a proud producer of craft ice cream. As an emerging trend amongst consumers, craft ice cream is often defined as small-batch, locally produced and handcrafted, traits that have defined Graeter’s Ice Cream for over 145 years. While dairy flavor boundaries, whether nostalgic, indulgent or sheer cutting edge, are being pushed, Graeter’s Ice Cream continues to evolve right there alongside all of them. Today, it is the only commercial ice cream manufacturer to use French Pot freezers, giving their ice cream and gelato its signature creaminess and rich chocolate chunks.
