Graeter's ice cream Travel Packs contain 4 pounds of dry ice. The FAA considers dry ice to be a hazardous substance. Some airlines charge a hazardous cargo fee for packages containing dry ice, while others prohibit such packages altogether. Many airlines, including Delta, also recently instituted fees for additional checked bags. Policies and fees vary by airline, are inconsistently enforced, and frequently change without notice. Graeter's urges you to call your airline to verify the baggage policy and fees for your specific flight. Be sure to record the name of the airline representative you speak with as some customers have reported that airline gate representatives contradict information provided by the same airline's telephone representatives. Graeter's makes no representations or guarantees that you will be able to carry on or check your Travel Pack. Graeter's will not refund fees charged by airlines.
