Mint Chip

I found Greater’s while studying at the Cincinnati Ballet Summer Intensive and became hooked, any time I was there my parents and I had to stop at the nearest shop because they loved it as much as I do. Most companies use artificial mint and bad ones taste more like fruit loops to me but not Greater’s who actually use real mint and the bittersweet chocolate chunks are perfectly paired in flavor and size. It was a great surprise when they started selling it at my local Schnucks in Indiana and great heartbreak when they stopped, makes me wish for more excuses to go to Cincinnati just to get a cone! Very happy memory from my childhood.

I have a number of qualities I look for in mint chocolate chip: plenty of chocolate, a strong mint flavor and the ability to discern between the two flavors, a creamy and not-icy texture and a thick instead of fluffy/cloudy texture. This ice cream hits all the marks. Great flavors and texture. Would prefer if chunks of chocolate were slightly smaller for improved flavor distribution but it doesn't significantly diminish the experience. Overly large chunks are definitely better than tiny pieces.

Mint chocolate chip ice cream has been my favorite flavor since I was a kid. No brand even comes close to the taste or the quality of ingredients than Graeter's. Peppermint oil and dark chocolate mega chunks...two unique and favorite aspects of this refreshing and decadent dessert! If you find a better quality of this classic ice cream flavor, pinch yourself: you'd be dreaming.

A friend introduced us to Graeter's several months ago. It was love at first bite....no kidding!!! We absolutely LOVE the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. To be honest, my wife and I think it's the best ice cream we've EVER tasted...and I wasn't previously a mint chocolate chip fan at all. The SOFT chocolate chunks are so ridiculously good we can never stop halfway through a pint, we always scarf the whole thing down in one sitting (usually right before bed so we don't have to share with the kiddos). The mint is extraordinary too! I mentioned the other night, "The minty flavor tastes so fresh I almost feel like I'm eating something healthy for me." It. Is. SO. Good!!! Since being introduced to Graeter's, I've purchased pints for five other couples. I tell them it's the best ice cream they'll ever have. They've all confessed to buying more Graeter's within the next couple days because they just HAD to have more. I gave some to my friend last week. He sat in bed waiting for his wife to come, and she took too long. He ate the whole thing himself. Hilarious, and absolutely true. She wasn't so happy, but he said it was worth it. With my wife being pregnant, we've probably eaten 6 pints in the last 4 weeks, and I don't regret it for a minute. I have only found your ice cream in my local Smith's grocery store, and they don't usually stock a lot. I wish they stocked more. I've been waiting for more Mint Chocolate Chip to come in for over a week. Thanks for the great ice cream. I'm a Utah man in love with your extraordinary goodness. Keep up the good work!
